My son recently turned 18 and he loves fast cars, so for his birthday we took him to drive a Lamborghini around a race track. Here an 18-year-old is going to drive a $250,000 car at speeds of around 120 miles per hour.
I watched him improve with each lap. What was interesting was his lack of fear while some folks in my age group drove around the track barely reaching 80 miles per hour.
If that is not intimidating as a parent, I don’t know what is.
When he was done we spoke about how cool it was to be on a racetrack to do this and to take advantage of this car while others failed to see its full potential and live the thrill it provided.
That got me thinking. We have just completed some amazing customer days across the USA and talking to our customers is such a treat. The one common theme is that our customers have a high-performance ERP system but they don’t use all the features. Our customers all perform on high performance race tracks when it comes to their businesses but they drive the high-performance ERP like it is an everyday commuter car.

In many cases, customers have not stayed up to date with the progress made in the technology of a product they already own. What was very telling was that almost every customer I spoke to acknowledged they only use parts of the application and they know they can improve business excellence if they sought out how to better leverage their ERP investments.

My advice to every customer we spoke to was to get an InfoZone login. Look at what is available, see what resources there are to help you and, if necessary, contact your support companies and get them to help you.
Your business is a race track and you have a Lamborghini. Learn to drive it, exercise your skills and perfect them and tomorrow when you add another chicane or hairpin turn, look at the performance specifications and adjust your skills. Most importantly enjoy the high-performance ERP you have and keep your foot on the gas. Improve your skills and see your competitors get smaller and smaller in the rear-view mirror!
